Katsina State Governor, Alh Aminu Masari has called on medical doctors to regard their profession as humanitarian rather than money making venture.
Governor Masari was speaking when he received the National president ,Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria, Dr Ugochukwu chinaka who led the executive officers of the Association on a courtesy call in Katsina.
The Governor lamented that while the profession is for saving lives, doctors are now pursuing money at the expense of ethics of the profession.
The National President of the Association, Dr Ugochukwu chinaka told the Governor that they were in Katsina for a one week national executive committee meeting of the association.
He said the welfare of their colleagues in Katsina state is being taken care of through payment of revised salary for doctors, which is done by majority of the states.
Doctor Chimaka commended the state government for providing modern state of the art facilities in the state tertiary institutions of health.
