A medical doctor, Dr. Olayioye Oluwatoyin has told an Ikeja Sexual Offences Court that her findings on 2-and-half year old girl alleged to have been sexually abused by a school supervisor indeed showed assault and penile penetration on the victim.
In her testimony as a consultant with Mirabel Center and staff of Lagos State University Teaching hospital, Ikeja who personally carried out medical examination on the victim following referral from the Ikeja Police Division, Dr. Oluwatoyin narrated his findings.
She explained that on examining the child from head-to-toe there was no fresh findings of sperm related to the case.
The consultant who was led in evidence by the State counsel, Mr. Babajide Boye, pointed out that blunt penetrations could be caused due to penile injury, finger and any other blunt objects.
During cross examination by defence counsel, Mr. Olatunde Adejuyigbe, SAN contended with the witness that she was not a consultant because of her claim that she was a trained consultant and forensic expert.
When the defence counsel took her up on who led the medical investigation team, she said she was the leader of the team and personally conducted the examination.
Justice Sybil Nwaka admitted in evidence a medical report by Mirabel Centre.
The matter has been adjourned till July 4 for further hearing.
