The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, has been awarded Fellowship of The Nigerian Academy of Engineering, during the Academy annual lecture and investiture.
Acknowledging receipt of the award which took place in Lagos, the elated professor Danbatta stated that the Award is an honour for NCC and dedicate it to the Commission, which he said has brought regulatory efficiency to the Nigerian telecom space.
The NCC boss said he was personally fulfilled as an Engineer and administrator of human and material resources and believe the induction was a recognition of the contribution of the ICT sector and the agency that is responsible for driving the achievement.
Professor Danbatta said being inducted into the Fellowship of The Nigerian Academy of Engineering is an honour that will spur the Nigerian Communications Commission to work harder, in order to deliver on the mandate assigned to the commission.
The NCC boss said being part of the industry and academia has broadened his knowledge pointing out that government has deemed it fit to develop talents in the academia and use it to drive the economy.
