Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has restated his administration’s commitment to transforming riverine communities of the state through execution of development projects.
The governor stated this in Burutu while inaugurating township roads and some other projects executed by his administration in the riverine communities of Burutu local government area.
Governor Okowa who also inspected several projects in the area, noted that there was a lot of challenges associated with constructing roads in the riverine communities.
He said the contractor handling the 18.9 kilometre Obotobo–Yokri road had to get a mobile asphalt plant , stressing that with the pace of work, the road project would be inaugurated soon.
The Delta State Governor who later held a town hall meeting with the people of Burutu local government area, commended the people for maintaining peace which he said had made it possible for development to take place in the area.
Those who spoke at the occasion thanked the Governor for executing several people oriented projects in Burutu and its environs.
