The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung has called on Nigeria Football Federation and its electoral committees to shelve plans for election into the Board and concentrate on the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia.
He made the call in Port Harcourt after the Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Simba of DR Congo in a farewell-friendly game at the Adokiye Amesiemeka stadium.
Mr Dalung advised them to be focused, determined and give their best in the tournament.
The Minister said that the Federal government has invested so much in Super Eagles to enable it to qualify for the World Cup.
Mr Dalung called the attention of the Federation to the Supreme Court’s verdict and warned that conducting the election without legal advice from the Attorney-General would further generate confusion.
The Super Eagles will kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 16, 2018 in Kaliningrad.
