The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo says the present administration is committed to securing the future of the children.
Professor Osinbajo who made the remark in a chat with the State House Correspondents after a special service to mark the Children’s Day, at the Aso Villa Chapel, Abuja.
He explained that a key feature of government and governance was the human development index which included education, healthcare and the welfare of the citizenry.
The Vice President said the government had formulated policies and programmes that would ensure an improved standard of living for the children.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, (Senate), Sen. Ita Enang urged the children to have faith in Nigeria.
The Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel, Pastor Seyi Malomo expressed delight that a day had been set aside every year to celebrate the Nigerian child and reassure them of a better future, particularly under this administration.
Pastor Malomo who delivered a sermon entitled “Lessons from Children’’ also advised Nigerians to emulate the children by being humble and honest.
