The National Orientation Agency has advocated attitudinal change towards the protection, conservation and maintenance of the critical public assets.
The Acting Director of the agency in Osun state, Mrs Yomi Olasinde stated this during community based sensitization campaign in Ede and Ibokun.
Mrs. Olasinde said the sensitization campaign is aimed at mobilizing the citizen across the country to take ownership for the protection of public infrastructure and also inculcate attitudinal and behavioural change that were necessary for sustainable action against vandalization.
She said the campaign would go a long way to create awareness on the need for members of public to always claim ownership of government property.
The Acting Director decried attitude of general public towards the preservation and protection of the public assets and critical infrastructure, saying Nigerians must be changed their dispositions to public infrastructure.
She called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, women organisations, security agents, and youth organisations and the general public to take proper ownership of the public assets in their domains by guiding the assets jealously.
Stakeholders at the event which include security agents, religious leaders, youth organisations and vigilante groups promised to ensure that all government facilities in their domains were well secured.
Highlight of the programme was a visit to some traditional institutions to educate them on the need to keep Surveillance on governments assets in their areas
