The strike embarked upon by the Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU, in Federal hospitals all over the country is taking its toll on patients and their relatives.
Radio Nigeria visited some of the facilities in Enugu metropolis, reports that medical services have been brought to a standstill at the hospitals.
Patients have been affected by the strike as many of them are not being treated.
The Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) commenced an indefinite strike on the 18th of April.
General Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP), Mr Obisesan Oluwatuyi said the strike would continue until government meets their demands.
President of JOHESU, Mr Josiah Biobelemoye, said the industrial action was due to, “insensitivity and lackadaisical attitude of ‘drivers’ of the health sector’’.
