The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC says the Federal Government is committed to tackling insecurity in the country hence the recent promotion of about four thousand officers and men of the corps across the country.
Edo State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Ayinla Makinde made this known while decorating the officers with their new ranks in Benin City, Edo State.
Mr. Makinde said the new promotion comes with more responsibilities and the need for the officers to be more dedicated to duty.
He urged them not to relent in providing diligent services, as the reward for promotion was more hard work and positive contribution to Nation building.
Edo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr. Samuel Odukoya, urged the newly promoted officers to be of good manners and respect the hierarchy, and also to do more to justify their new ranks.
Mr. Silas Dawusa thanked the Federal Government for the opportunity to serve and gave assurance not to betray the trust and confidence repose on him and his colleagues.
Seventy eight senior officers in the command were promoted with one Deputy Commandant promoted to the rank of a Corps Commander, while two ACC were promoted to DCC.
Also promoted were three CSC to Assistant Commandant, seven SC to CSC, seven DSC to Superintendent of Corps, and 12 ASC to DSC.
While twenty four ASC II were promoted ASC I, four PIC II to PIC I, thirteen SIC to PIC II and one IC to SIC.
As part of the event seven officers were redeployed from their previous departments and units out of which five were among the newly promoted.
