Minister of state for education, Professor Anthony Awuka announced this at the twentieth quarterly meeting of management of Universal Basic Education Commission with Executive Chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Boards in Lafia, Nasarwa State.
Professor Awuka said, the move followed cases of out of school children, poor infrastructure and lack of instructional materials in basic schools across the country.
The minister blamed state Governments for some of the challenges facing basic education due to their failure to access accumulated funds at the Universal Basic Education Commission.
Professor Anthony Awuka expressed belief that the meeting would provide strategies and policy framework for education managers to review its activities towards enhancing the delivery of basic education in the country.
The theme of the meeting is Agriculture in Basic Education, preparing the next generation of Nigeria’s Agro entrepreneurs.
