The House of Representatives is to investigate the abduction of 110 Students of the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi in Burusari Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The Ad- hoc Committee to investigate the Abduction is to be given a thorough terms of Reference for a far reaching report aimed at practical implementation that would forestall recurrence of such abductions in the Country.
This Resolution followed a motion on matter of urgent Public importance brought to the House by the member representing Burusari-Geidam and Murusari Federal Constituency of Yobe state, Alhaji Goni Lawan.
Alhaji Goni told the House,that 110 girls of the School were on Monday,the 19th of this month abducted by insurgents.
After an extensive debate on the motion, the House further resolved to visit and commiserate with the parents and people of Dapchi on the incident.
The Probe Committee in line with the urgency attached to the development is to submit its report within Four weeks.
The House also passed three bills during the sitting, one of which is an amendment bill for a Re- enactment of the law for the establishment of the Nigerian Film Commission to regulate and develop the film industry in the country.
