Federal govt has launched Nigerian Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF)to enhance job creation and reduce poverty in the country.
The minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu stressed the need for effective participation of both the public and private sectors towards the implementation of the program.
The framework aimed at providing quality assurance and recognition for competencies acquired in the formal,non formal and informal sectors of the economy.
Its benefits includes to motivate the beneficiaries for better performance and service to the nation,promotes innovation, self employment and economic reliance among others.
The minister who presented operational licence to the awarding bodies and skills councils charged them to facilitate the implementation and development of standard to meet international best practices.
The Chairman,National Skills Organization Council, Mrs Angela Ajala expressed reiterated the commitment her organization in translating the initiative into a reality.
Mrs Ajala said measures were put in place to harness the skills acquired in the formal and informal sectors.
