A supervisor with a private school in Lagos, Chrisland, Adegboyega Adenekan, has been arraigned at an Ikeja high court for defiling a two-year-old pupil under his care.
Adenekan tutors children privately, though still in the employment of Chrisland.
Prosecution lawyer, Ms Titilayo Shitta-Bey, said Adenekan committed the offence in November 2016 at the school premises, which was reported to the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team.
Adenekan pleaded not guilty to a charge
His defence counsel, Mr Olatunde Adejuyigbe, SAN, requested that the school supervisor should maintain the bail granted him by the Magistrate Court in December 2016.
The presiding judge, Justice Sybil Nwaka, question Adenekan’s to determine his eligibility for bail.
Justice Nwaka queried why parents would allowed him privately-tutor their children despite the grievous charge against him.
The judge ordered that Adenekan maintain the bail granted by the Magistrate Court.
The case was adjourned till sixth of next month for trial.
