The Federal Capital Territory has allocated land for the Federal Integrated Staff Housing Scheme, FISH project for civil servants.
The Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita stated this on Tuesday during a press briefing on major achievements by her office in 2017.
Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita said the FISH Programme was aimed at providing cost effective and affordable housing for government workers.
She raised the hope of civil servants that land had been allocated for the programme.
The Head of Service explained that the FISH Programme was on course and not abandoned as being insinuated.
On outstanding arrears, she said the federal government had commenced the payment of promotion arrears and other benefits.
She also expressed optimism that the 2017-2019 strategic implementation plan would entrench service delivery and reposition the service.
The Executive Secretary of the Federal government staff loans board, Dr. Hannatu Fika explained that loan ceiling of civil servants was being reviewed upward to purchase a moderate accommodation.
