Police have produced their first witness in the ongoing trial of film promoter, Olajide Kareem, popularly known as Seun Egbegbe, and five others.

Egbegbe is being tried by the police before Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo of a Federal High Court, Lagos alongside Oyekan Ayomide, Lawal Kareem, Olalekan Yusuf and Muyideen Shoyombo, over allegedly defrauding thirty bureau de change operators in Lagos of the sum of about two hundred million naira.

Seun had implicated his brother in the case.

Justice Oguntoyinbo, had on the fifth of this month ordered the police to produce their witness, Inspector Bello Abubakar, who had testified before the court but had never shown up for cross-examination.

However, despite the appearance of the police witness before the court, Justice Oguntoyinbo, declined to vacate her earlier order on the witness when requested to do so by the prosecutor, Mr. Innocent Anyigor.

The judge said the order would only be vacated when the police witness concluded his evidence.

The matter has been adjourned till Tuesday next week for continuation of cross-examination of the witness.
