Police arrest car thieves in Anambra

Three robbery suspects who specialised in car and handset snatching have been arrested by the police command in Anambra state.

150 handsets suspected to have been stolen from different victims were recovered from them.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Mr Haruna Mohammed says a combined team of Puff Adder and Police detectives attached to Aguata division on 26th of August arrested the 3 man gang allegedly involved in armed robbery and carjacking within Anambra state and Asaba.

The statement explains that the suspects snatched one Toyota Corolla 2004 and a Lexus 300 Car on the 21st of July 2019 in Aguata.

Other exhibits recovered are 12 Itel phones of different models, 26 Infinix phones of different models, 32 Tecno phones of different models, 16 Samsung phones, 3 Gionee Phones and 60 other smaller phones of different make and models, all suspected to have been snatched from different Victims.

Mr Mohammed therefore calls on the public whose handsets were either snatched or stolen to report at the Special Anti Robbery Squad, Awkuzu with proof of ownership in order to claim their handsets.

The Police Image maker says that the case is under investigation after which suspects would be arraigned in Court.
