Three Thousand Five Hundred and Ninety Five Children suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition in Nasarawa State, have been enrolled for treatment since two thousand and eighteen.
Executive Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Mohammad Adis announced this during a news briefing in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.
Dr. Adis, stated that out of the figure, two thousand six hundred and thirty seven children have so far been cured of the condition.
He pointed out that the Agency has established a Community Based Management Approach of Acute Malnutrition in three local government areas of the state with five health facilities in each aimed at reaching children under five years who are affected by Acute Malnutrition to access treatment.
Dr. Adis, also noted that the State Primary Health Care Development Agency has mopped up all expired food supplements supplied for management of Acute Malnutrition in facilities across the state for destruction using the existing set out policy.
